Dr Buzacott graduated University of Queensland Medical School in 2000. He has been a full time specialist Anaesthetist in Brisbane since 2009. He has spent 5 years as a cardiothoracic anaesthetist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, and has been with Greenslopes Anaesthesia Services since 2014

Dr Conor Dowdall completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science before acquiring a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery at University of Queensland. He trained in Anaesthesia in both North Queensland and Brisbane completing his General Fellowship with interests in Neurosurgical Anaesthesia and Ophthalmic Anaesthesia at Princess Alexandra Hospital. He works as a public Anaesthetist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and practices privately at most Brisbane Private Hospitals.

Dr Conor Dowdall has a strong interest in teaching junior medical and nursing staff. Dr Andrew Hogan was educated at the Anglican Church Grammar School and attended Medical School at the University of Queensland. Following residency at Nambour and Greenslopes Repatriation Hospital he entered the Southside Training Program in Anaesthesia in 1993 and was admitted as a Specialist Practitioner in 1999. After eighteen months fulltime at QE2 Hospital, he commenced private work, initially with St Andrews Place Anaesthetic Practice and subsequently Greenslopes Anaesthetic Practice (GAS). He has been a member of GAS since 2003 and a partner since 2014.

Dr Jonathan Lau qualified in Medicine from the University of Sheffield, UK, with Distinction in his Special Study Module, which was published in the Journal of Infection.

He underwent anaesthetic training in South Brisbane and later pursued his post Fellowship subspecialty interest in Anaesthesia for Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) and Vascular Surgery at Addenbrooke's, Cambridge University Hospitals Foundation NHS Trust, UK.

He holds a part time Consultant position with Mater Health Services and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer with the University of Queensland Medical School.

Dr Mark Lai was schooled in Brisbane Boys’ College and attended medical school at the University of Queensland. He qualified as a Specialist Anaesthetist in 2000, training in both Cairns and Brisbane, after-which he undertook subspecialty fellowships in cardiac anaesthesia and neuroanaesthesia at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Dr Lai returned to Brisbane, working as a staff specialist at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital for five years. He is now a VMO cardiac anaesthetist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, VMO neuroanaesthetist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and attends the majority of Brisbane’s private hospitals.

Professional Biography
Dr Conrad Macrokanis first completed a Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Zoology, working as a field biologist with snakes and birds for several years prior to launching a career in medicine. After completing his Medical degree, he worked in Rural & Indigenous health for 15 years as a Rural GP Anaesthetist. Eventually he returned to Brisbane to re-train and since 2011 has worked as an Anaesthetic specialist, initially at the Mater Hospital for 7 years then with the Greenslopes Anaesthetic Service practicing Anaesthesia at most Brisbane private hospitals in a wide variety of surgical sub-specialities. His experience gained in the "bush" has resulted in broad clinical and academic practice. He is actively involved in Anaesthetic teaching, lecturing and research. He is involved in a national committee for Perioperative Care and a national facilitator for regional anaesthesia. More importantly, this broad exposure of country and people has made his practice very patient focused, optimising care prior to surgery, comforting patients and customising their anaesthetic for surgery and ensuring an optimised post-operative experience. He has travelled working abroad in developing countries including Uganda, India, Madagascar and Samoa.

Biography
Mitch is a full time staff specialist at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Anaesthetic Department. He completed a combined airway and bariatric fellowship in 2013. His professional interests include bariatric and major upper GI surgery, as well as a maintaining a large research and Quality Assurance portfolio. Mitch chases the snow for snowboarding and runs a competitive BBQ team, recently winning the Australian BBQ championship.

Dr Rawlins is interested in all aspects of adult anaesthesia, and sub-specialises in cardiothoracic anaesthesia, perfusion, and trans-oesophageal echocardiography.

Professional Biography:
Dr Rawlins was awarded her medical degree from the University of London in 2004. She started specialist anaesthetic training in the UK before moving to Australia in 2009. She completed her specialist training in Brisbane in 2013. Dr Rawlins has a special interest in cardiothoracic anaesthesia, and undertook a subspecialty fellowship in cardiac anaesthesia and perfusion at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane. She continues to work in this field, and was appointed Director of Cardiac Anaesthesia at Princess Alexandra Hospital in 2017. She attends the majority of Brisbane’s private hospitals, and is a highly respected member of the Brisbane anaesthetic community.

Other:
Dr Rawlins has interests in training anaesthetists in advanced life support (ALS), and has convened national and international courses designed specifically to educate anaesthetists about ALS in the peri-operative environment. Dr Rawlins has been involved in trainee education and welfare as a supervisor of training with ANZCA. She is a Senior Lecturer with the University of Queensland. Professional Biography
Dr Shadforth commenced her medical career nursing at Townsville General Hospital, subsequently transferring to Brisbane to train as a doctor. After two years of postgraduate training, she spent the following year working for six months in ICU, and three months in Respiratory and Emergency Medicine. She then worked for Alcohol and Drug Dependency services for one year. During this time she was actively involved in collaborative research with the University of California Los Angeles and was an author of a scientific paper reporting the discovery of a major risk gene for opioid dependency. The following year she returned to anaesthetic training.

She rotated through a number of hospitals on the Brisbane Southside Anaesthetic Training Scheme and obtained her FANZCA in 1992.

She obtained a consultant position at the then Greenslopes Repatriation Hospital, where she worked half time in the Intensive Care Unit and half time in the Anaesthetic Department. She was actively involved in Registrar and Medical Student teaching, and lectured in the Medical student Curiculum for Anaesthetics for the University of Qld.

When Ramsay Health bought Greenslopes Hospital she became one of the Founding Members of Greenslopes Anaesthesia Services, and sat on the Hospital Medical Advisory board as Chair ofthe Department for eight years. She currently sits on the Board of Greenslopes Anaesthesia Services.

She worked in Cardiac Anaesthesia for ten years. Her areas of interest and expertise include Anaesthesia for Vascular surgery, Orthopaedics, Plastics, Breast and Endocrine, Gastrointestinal and Respiratory procedures, and Anaesthesia for IVF and Gynaecology. She has a special interest in Regional Anaesthesia and its place in post operative multimodal pain relief so that patients experience the best quality of post operative recovery possible. She has a passion for delivering anaesthesia to minimize patient nausea and vomiting. She also has an interest in cosmetic medicine and has completed a number ofworkshops in the discipline, believing people should be able to look and feel the best they can. She has maintained an interest in Addiction Medicine and is a member of the Welfare of Anaesthetist’s Special Interest group.

Dr Shadforth is accredited to work at all Brisbane Metropolitan Hospitals and a number of smaller free standing day units.

Dr Snow qualified as a specialist anaesthetist after undertaking anaesthetic training in Tasmania and completing a trauma fellowship at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. He maintains an interest in perioperative medicine and anaesthesia of the trauma patient. Prior to anaesthesia he trained as a rural general practitioner. He currently works at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and at most of the metropolitan Brisbane hospitals. Dr Snow endeavours to deliver safe and up-to-date anaesthetic care to all his patients.
